Volunteer Program
The Emporia Animal Shelter now has a fully operational volunteer program. If you are interested in volunteering at our shelter please come in and complete an application to volunteer. Our animals would enjoy the extra love and attention.
Who We Are
The City of Emporia Animal Shelter is a division of the Emporia Police Department and is funded by the City of Emporia. However, we do accept donations of pet care supplies, towels, blankets, pet foods, treats, toys, and chews. Any monetary donations will be accepted and used to help ensure the comfort and well-being of our animals as well as the purchasing of vaccinations for all cats and dogs.
We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here.
Alleviate the financial stress associated with your pet’s unexpected medical expenses and generate funds for our shelter at the same time! Simply apply for a ShelterCare Pet Insurance Program by using the ShelterCare banner-link.
Here’s how it works: ShelterCare Pet Insurance Programs cover you when your pet needs essential veterinary care from an illness or injury. Also, every time a completed application for a ShelterCare program is generated through our shelter’s website, we automatically receive a $25 donation to help cover common needs like vaccinations, litter and food. This donation is of no cost to you and provides us with essential funds. Make the right move and enroll today!
